14.6m Composite Planing Power Cat

The 14.6m composite planing hull power cat Sea Star was built in NZ for an American client who had 3 previous power cats from our studio. It is based in Maine and is in excellent condition and had a complete re-paint recently. The boat was built from an ATL Composites pre-made, pre-cut composite panel system with a foam cored and E glass hull and deck and a foam cored and carbon internal structure with carbon secondary bonding.

This super strong light weight planing cat is very efficient and can actually get up on a plane with one engine.

The interior has 2 sleeping cabins and 2 bathrooms. The galley is ‘down’ in the port hull which creates a comfortable lounge. The internal helm station is elevated and roomy.

Fitted with a pair of 6LY 480hp Yanmars, genset, air conditioning, etc. Top speed of 34 knots and very economic cruising from 17 to 25 knots consuming 3.5 litres per NM at 20 knots.
